The Elder Restaurant, Michelin Plate Winner 2021 - Bath, UK
It is always great to see new and exciting restaurants pop up on the Bath food scene and I was delighted to help out The Elder with some photographs of their beautiful interior.
Seated in a series of elegant and atmospheric dining rooms, each portioned along the lines of the original Georgian houses they reside within, their guests are welcomed as old friends. A sumptuous yet informal dining experience where guests are taken on a journey of discovery by their knowledgeable and passionate team. Everyone who visits The Elder leaves having learnt something – whether it’s a story about the history of Bath, their local estates or how they prepare and cook the perfect venison.
Sustainability is at the core of our message - they go to incredible lengths to ensure all our meat, fish and veg are grown or harvested humanely, carefully and with care. Their wild food offering is unique in the UK - as land managers control wild deer herds on private estates and process the venison in their own FSA regulated larder.
The Elder is the brainchild of Mike Robinson, one of Britain’s leading authorities on wild food and game. His infectious personality and passion for sustainable wild food has converted more than one vegetarian. Mike is Co-Owner of The Harwood Arms in Fulham, London’s only Michelin Starred pub, also specialising in game and wild food and Owner of Robinson Wild Foods, specialist supplier of the best venison to 15 of London’s finest restaurants.
Alongside Mike, Group Head Chef Gavin Edney oversees the development of the team and the menus at The Elder which has recently been awarded a Michelin Plate for 2021.
